Reza Askari ROAR Stefan Karl Schmid Fabian Arends livestream LOFT cologne KölnDas Trio um den Kölner Bassisten Reza Askari vereint drei junge, hochkarätige und virtuose Protagonisten der aktuellen europäischen Jazz- und Improvisationsmusik.
Zusammen mit Stefan Karl Schmid am Saxophon und Fabian Arends am Schlagzeug hat Reza Askari einen runden und homogenen Klangkörper erschaffen, welcher vor Spiel- und Experimentierfreude gerade nur so strotzt. 
Alle drei Musiker sind gleichwertige Interaktionspartner, wodurch der dreidimensionale Klangkörper des Ensembles ein Harmonieinstrument nicht vermissen lässt.
Das musikalische Fundament des Trios wird von Freundschaft, gegenseitigem Vertrauen und dem Willen, neue noch unbekannte Wege zu gehen, stetig untermauert. Das Spielen mit Aufbrechen und Zusammensetzten von Formen und Strukturen und der Vereinigung von zeitgenössischen Strömungen mit traditionellen Werten des Jazz macht ROAR zu einem spannenden, intensiven Hörerlebnis.
 Mitte 2020 wird das zweite Album von ROAR – ebenfalls eine LOFT-Aufnahme – auf dem Berliner Label QFTF erscheinen.

The trio around Cologne bassist Reza Askari unites three young, top-class and virtuoso protagonists of the current European jazz and improvisation scene. Together with Stefan Karl Schmid on saxophone and Fabian Arends on drums, Reza Askari has created a round and homogeneous sound that is just bursting with joy in playing and experimenting. All three musicians are equal interaction partners, which means that the three-dimensional sound of the ensemble does not miss a harmony instrument. The musical foundation of the trio is steadily underpinned by friendship, mutual trust and the will to break new ground. Playing with breaking-up and re-assembling forms and structures and combining contemporary trends with traditional values ​​of jazz makes ROAR an exciting, intensive listening experience. In mid 2020, ROAR’s second album – recorded at the LOFT – will be released on the Berlin label QFTF.
